Pinchus Smaia is a fine art portrait painter whose work begins with listening. Known to many also as Pinchas, Pinchos, or simply Pini, he paints under the names Smaia, Shmaya, and Smaya — all the same hand, the same eye, the same feeling. Whether painting one beloved face or a sweeping multi-figure scene, he looks for the small gesture, the quiet light, and the feeling that makes a moment true.
